Thunderstorm alert issued for Kapit, Bintulu, Tatau, Limbang, Lawas until 6pm today

KUCHING, June 15: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm alerts for Kapit, Bintulu, Tatau, Limbang, and Lawas.

According to an advisory notice issued at 2.30pm today, the adverse weather conditions are expected to last until 6.00pm, with heavy rainfall and strong winds anticipated during this period.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it added. — DayakDaily
