Thunderstorm alert: Heavy rain expected for Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, surrounding areas until 7pm (March 6)

KUCHING, March 6: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong wind warning for several areas in Sarawak, effective until 7pm today.

The affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei (Julau and Meradong), Sibu, Mukah (Daro, Matu, Dalat, and Mukah), Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang.

The warning was issued at 3.30pm after signs indicated thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour, expected to persist for more than an hour.
