KUCHING, Feb 29: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in six districts across Sarawak until 4pm today.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory notice issued at 12pm, said the affected districts are Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah, and Tanjung Manis.
The department said a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hour per release. — DayakDaily
