KUCHING, March 1: A total of four suspects were caught for illegal lottery activities during two raids at two different locations yesterday.
The first raid involved a premises located at Jalan Seringgok, Bau around 5:30pm. An Indonesian man and a local woman were arrested for suspected involvement in illegal lottery ticket selling.
The second premises located at Jalan Jambusan, Bau was also raided by police and two Indonesian women were arrested.
The police confiscated two handphones and cash which were believed to be used in the sales of lottery tickets during the raid.
All the suspects were remanded and will be investigated under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. — DayakDaily
