KUCHING, Aug 5: Three housing projects at Taman Millennium, Taman Greenwoods, and Fu Yu Garden here that have been classified as ‘sick’ have been completed after years of delay.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Sarawak, a joint site visit to the housing projects was held today to hand over the Occupation Permits (OPs) to the respective developers.
The Taman Millennium project at Matang was delayed by five years from the expected handover of vacant possession in 2020, with the OP issued by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) on July 25.
Also within the same vicinity is the Taman Greenwoods project, in which the OP was issued in stages for 31 units of both single-storey terrace and single-storey semi-detached houses on July 21.
It added that some of these houses have been handed over to the respective owners, ending eight years of delay. The rectification works for the remaining units are currently ongoing and expected to be completed soon.
As for the Fu Yu Garden project at Jalan Batu Kawah, the OP was issued on August 1 after facing a delay from the expected handover of vacant possession in 2022.
“The ministry is committed to facilitating relevant stakeholders involved in the problematic housing projects to ensure that houses are completed and purchasers can enter a place of shelter, safety, and comfort,” said the statement. — DayakDaily
