Three more healthcare workers test positive for Covid-19 in Sarawak

KUCHING, Feb 7: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) revealed that there were three new Covid-19 cases involving healthcare workers reported today.

According to the press statement from SDMC, one of the cases was identified in Sibu, while two others are in Miri.

These additions bring the total number of healthcare workers in the state infected with Covid-19 to 109.


Previously, on Feb 6, there were two healthcare workers who tested positive for Covid-19 in health facilities in Song and Kanowit.

On Jan 25, State Health Department sirector Dr Chin Zin Hing told DayakDaily that there were a total of 53 medical officers across four major hospitals in Sarawak who had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Subsequently on Jan 26, five more cases involving medical staff were reported.

On Jan 29, SDMC disclosed that there were nine new infections, and thereon, the total continued to rise with one new case on Jan 30, three on Jan 31, six on Feb 1, four each on Feb 2 and 3, eight on Feb 4, and seven on Feb 5. — DayakDaily
