KUCHING, Jan 23: Three households affected by a landslide in the Tasik Biru constituency received one-off monetary assistance from the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) on Saturday.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, the households, two from Kampung Senibung Singai and one from Kampung Sibuluh, each received RM1,000, which was channelled through the Bau Disaster Management Committee (BDMC).

Two of the assistance was presented by Dato Henry Harry Jinep, who is Assistant Minister for Transport II, to Mijed Junus and Gichun Muto from Kampung Senibung.

The Tasik Biru assemblyman also appealed to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to assess the situation involving Mijed’s house that was severely damaged during the incident on Jan 13 and to follow up by building a new house because his house is no longer safe to be occupied.

At the same time, Bau District Officer Anielia Siam presented the same assistance to Nyobi Gandek in Kampung Sibuluh. — DayakDaily
