Three friends arrested for possessing drugs worth RM7,100

MIRI, Oct 30: A woman was amongst three friends detained on Monday night by Miri Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) for drug possession.

The drugs, weighing 40.64gm and believed to be methamphetamine, were estimated to be worth RM7,100.


All three suspects, aged 24, 33 and 42, have been remanded until November 1 by the Magistrate’s Court here to assist a police investigation into the case.

The trio was detained by a Miri NCID team during a raid led by Inspector Ameerul Ashraf Muhamad on a house in Piasau Utara around 11.45pm.

All the suspects who are unemployed, have tested positive for methamphetamine.

The case is being investigated under Section 12(2), 15(1)(a) and 39A (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Prior to the arrests, two male suspects had gone to the house and claimed that they were helping the woman remove some furniture in the house.

Further checks revealed all three suspects have no records of previous criminal or drug-related offences. — DayakDaily
