KUCHING, Nov 17: Three Form 4 students found themselves in legal trouble as they were charged at the Magistrate’s Court today for allegedly causing harm to an 18-year-old boy.

The trio, standing accused, unanimously entered pleas of not guilty under Section 323 of the Penal Code before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.

The charges were read in conjunction with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which stipulates penalties of imprisonment for up to one year, a fine reaching RM2,000, or a combination of both upon conviction.

Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali has scheduled the pre-trial case management for December 20. In the interim, each juvenile offender has been released on a court bail of RM1,000, with their parents serving as sureties.

The incident allegedly occurred at Jalan Green around 3am on November 11.

According to the charge, the accused, acting in concert with others who are still at large, purportedly caused harm to the 18-year-old boy with common intention.
