KUCHING, Nov 17: A 26-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident along Kilometer 14 Jalan Lundu-Sematan.
According to Lundu district police chief DSP Damataries Lautin, the accident was reported to have occurred at 9.30pm on Nov 15.
“Preliminary investigations at the scene found that the motorcycle that the victim was riding with was initially involved in a single-vehicle accident.
“A Proton Saga, coming from Lundu towards Sematan, then collided with the victim a few minutes later,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He added that the victim, from Summer View Garden in Jalan Batu Kawa-Tondong, suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the location, while the 40-year-old driver was unharmed.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
