MIRI, June 10: Three men, including two senior citizens, pleaded guilty at the Miri Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for violating the movement control order (MCO), after they were caught red-handed gambling.
The trio was caught in the act on May 26 in Kampung Pasir, Lutong, and have been fined RM900 and RM1,000 respectively or in default one-month imprisonment.
Jana Lobo, 61, Anjang Bachon, 68, and Jeffery Rody Dom, 24, pleaded guilty after their charges under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations were read out at the Magistrate’s Court here.
Both Jana and Anjang were fined RM900, while Jeffery was fined RM1,000 or in default one month’s imprisonment.
The punishments were meted out by Magistrate Leona Dominic Mojiliu.—DayakDaily
