KUCHING, July 13: Thousands of spectators thronged the Kuching Waterfront here last night (July 12) for The Band Lab’s Waterfront Spectacular, a breathtaking evening of live orchestral music, dazzling fireworks, powerful vocals, and elegant dances that transported the audience into the enchanting worlds of Disney.
Held at Zone A of the Kuching Waterfront, the free outdoor concert opened with a rousing performance of Disney 100 Years of Wonder, setting the stage for a musical journey that delighted audiences of all ages.

Under the baton of The Band Lab founder Jesmond Siew, a 65-piece orchestra brought to life beloved Disney classics including Beauty and the Beast, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, a Frozen 2 medley, and The Circle of Life.
Each piece was paired with a synchronised pyromusical display that lit up the night sky, drawing cheers and applause from the captivated crowd.
Adding to the magic were vocalists Dell Lawrence, Ng Chien, Christine Chai, Taylor Louise, Ashwaree, and Shann Liaw, who delivered powerful and emotive performances backed by The Voice Lab and dancers from Iris School of Ballet.
The spectacular show also drew the presence of Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, alongside his deputy, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, and the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Datu Sherrina Hussaini.


Organised by The Band Lab and supported by the Ministry of National Unity and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak, the event also received backing from strategic partners including Century Music School, AOrchestra, Hero AVL Management, Averlution, KTT, MG Couture, Lucia Martina, Iris School of Ballet, Old Court House, and PyroMaster.
In a Facebook post, Abdul Karim praised the organisers for delivering a high-quality and entertaining performance that brought joy to the crowd, even in the face of light rain.
“Thousands of Kuching city residents flooded the Kuching Waterfront tonight to enliven the musical concert and fireworks show organised by The Band Lab, supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP).
“Congratulations and well done to the organisers for presenting a quality and entertaining musical performance to the many visitors who came with their families despite the rain earlier this evening (July 12),” he wrote.
The evening ended on a high note, leaving attendees awestruck and Kuching’s night skyline aglow with musical wonder and lights. — DayakDaily
