Performances were paused at 11.59pm for the countdown to the new year led by MBKS Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, several Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) leaders and community leaders.

At the stroke of midnight, everyone shouted ‘Happy New Year’ and cheered. This was followed by a fireworks display which unfolded without a hitch, leaving all in awe.

Throughout the day, security personnel were at the scene to ensure crowd safety and smooth flow of traffic.
