KUCHING, Dec 6: With nomination day for the 12th Sarawak Election almost at its end, the retired Bishop is nowhere to be found.

More specifically, the retired former Anglican Bishop of Kuching Datuk Bolly Lapok did not show his face at any nomination centre today.

On Nov 11, the 69-year-old former priest made public his decision to join politics by becoming a member of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

Giving the timing of the announcement, this fueled speculations that he would be fielded by the party in the coming election, but it seems the commotion is a damp squib.

Despite all the media attention then, Bolly’s name was nowhere to be found in the candidate lists for Balai Ringin, Bukit Begunan and Simanggang — all in Sri Aman Division — which were rumoured to be seats he would be fielded in.

It appears the Bishop will not be joining the fray this election. Whatever the reason is, it is up for speculation. — DayakDaily
