KUCHING, Mar 13:  The Anglican Church of Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam is suspending all church services from this Sunday until April 1, 2020.

This is in light of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

The Bishop of Kuching (Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam) Rt Reverend Datuk Danald Jute issued a statement today, making the announcement.

“In light of the increasing number of cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections in Sarawak and Brunei, and having taken into consideration the latest advisory from Ministry of Health, along with professional views expressed and conveyed to us, we have decided to temporarily suspend our Sunday and Weekdays Church Services effective this Sunday, 15 March – 1 April 2020.

“We wish to stress that this is a temporary measure. Further advisory will follow.”

“There is no need to panic. On the contrary, let us each draw ever nearer to God in fervent prayers, for His healing power.

“We encourage those who can do live-streaming of their service to do so, with a small number of people present,” said the Bishop. — DayakDaily
