KUCHING, June 2:Â Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) expresses appreciation to medical personnel, enforcement officers and the police who cannot take a break during this Gawai Dayak public holidays.
To show its appreciation, SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas visited Sarawak General Hospital and MBKS Covid-19 One Stop Centre to present some packed food to the medical frontliners and enforcement teams who are on duty.  The police of course were also not being left out.
“The gesture is in appreciation to all concerned for their very important contributions in our fight against the Covid-19.
“It is also in view of the Gawai Dayak celebration,” said Uggah who is also Deputy Chief Minister in a press statement today.
Accompanying him were his wife Datu Doreen Mayang and Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Prof. Dr Sim Kui Hian who is also SDMC advisor.
Uggah presented 1,000 packs of food to Sarawak General Hospital.  Earlier he also handed over 100 packs to the police and 200 to those on duty at the MBKS One-Stop Centre. — DayakDaily
