Thailand’s PTTEP meets Premier to discuss collaboration with Sarawak govt, Petros

KUCHING, Sept 14: PPT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), a Thailand-based company engaged in the exploration and production of petroleum, paid a courtesy call on Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to discuss a future collaboration with Petros that would contribute towards achieving Sarawak’s green economy agenda.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), PTTEP chief executive officer Montri Rawanchaikul and delegation met with Abang Johari at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

“The Premier of Sarawak encouraged us to explore the green economy.


“It is part of our strategy and we are interested to collaborate and help Sarawak towards the renewable energy future by coupling green hydrogen with hydropower,” he said.

Apart from that, PTTEP is also looking at job creations for Sarawakians as the company is going to open a construction site in Bintulu.

“We are also planning to conduct a training programme for Sarawakian industrial employees to be placed in PTTEP which not only emphasise on gas exploration and production but also targeting the green economy in Sarawak,” he added. — DayakDaily
