KUCHING, Feb 22: Certain areas in Bintulu may experience temporary water supply disruptions following a damaged main pipe near the junction of Jalan Kampung Pisang and Jalan Coastal Bintulu-Miri.

Laku Management Sdn Bhd in a statement today said the disruption will affect consumers at the SSGP Bintulu Operation Centre, Sg. Similajau Raw Water Intake and Samalaju Water Treatment Plant.

“A section of Laku Management Sdn Bhd’s treated water pumping mains was accidentally damaged by a trailer.

“However, we wish to assure consumers in the Kidurong Industrial Area (KINDA) 2 area that their water supply should remain unaffected.

“Our team will swiftly close the isolation valve after the interconnection point for KINDA 2 to prevent any disruption,” it said.

The department assures that their Maintenance Department is already on the ground, prioritizing and initiating repair work to minimize the duration of the disruption.

“We anticipate that the necessary repairs will be completed by this evening, and normal water supply will resume shortly thereafter,” the statement added.
