Temporary road closures for Bintulu-Jepak Bridge launch ceremony tomorrow (July 23)

KUCHING, July 22: Several roads surrounding the Bintulu-Jepak Bridge crossing Kuala Kemena will be closed for the bridge’s opening ceremony tomorrow (July 23) from 6pm to 11pm.

In a statement, Bintulu District Police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the closures are to facilitate the event, which will also include a fireworks display on the bridge.

Additionally, traffic police officers will be stationed to manage traffic flow, and the affected roads are expected to reopen once the ceremony concludes.

“The police request everyone’s cooperation to be cautious and plan their journeys accordingly when the event commences.

“If road users are going through the area, please take note of the traffic signage and instructions issued by our officers,” he said.

For safety reasons, he also announced to the public that the flying of drones is prohibited without approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).

Overall, 115 police officers comprising 19 senior officers and 96 lower-ranking members will be deployed and on standby throughout the ceremony.
