KUCHING, Oct 19: Half of Jalan Sultan Tengah in Kuching will be temporarily closed from today (Oct 19) to Oct 27 (8pm to 5am) for road repair works.
According to a notice issued by the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), detours/road closure will only be implemented while on-site road surface repair work is being performed to make room for heavy machinery to operate.
“However, this road will be opened as soon as possible if the construction work can be completed ahead of schedule in order to facilitate the movement of traffic. Please adhere to the warning signs placed in and around the affected area, and kindly cooperate with and follow the instructions of the road guard to ensure smooth traffic flow.
“JKR Kuching Division will notify if there are any changes to the date or location of these works. The public is instructed to plan their travel in the affected areas. Any problems encountered are deeply regretted.
“If there are any complaints or further questions related to the traffic flow, please contact JKR Kuching Division at 082-203400 during office hours,” JKR said. — DayakDaily
