KUCHING, Dec 4: The Temasek Foundation Singapore had contributed 140,000 reusable masks to Sarawak as a gesture of support for Sarawakians in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos) received the contribution on behalf of the state government which had been delivered to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Nov 25.
Statos chief executive officer Chew Chang Guan expressed deep appreciation to Temasek Foundation for the generosity.
“We are thrilled and deeply moved by the kind gesture and support from Temasek Foundation and Singapore.
“The relationship between Singapore and Sarawak is just like a family,” he said in a media release today.
Chew emphasised that this contribution was not the first as the Foundation had also in April this year sent 25 Fortitude Kit 2.0 which were equivalent to 5,000 test kits to Sarawak.
In addition, the Foundation had in September 2019 sent 3,000 N95 face masks to the state which was hit by haze with air pollutant index (API) reached a hazardous level. – DayakDaily
