Teenage grave robber caught in the act

MIRI, Oct 25: A grave robber was caught in the act at Roman Catholic Cemetery in Riam earlier today, while five other accomplices fled the scene.

The suspect, 15-year-old school dropout, was caught red handed, while digging and breaking one of the grave plots at around 8am by members of the public.


However, his five accomplices managed to escape upon noticing the approaching public.

“The boy has been handed over to the police for further investigation. He is currently placed under police custody for questioning,” sources said.

According to the source, the boy and his accomplices, one believed to be his uncle, have been actively involved in the activity for the past three years.

Sources added that the suspects were residing nearby the cemetery. — DayakDaily
