ASAJAYA, Aug 29: A contract worker for the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Sarawak was found lifeless after he fell into the river at Kampung Sambir this morning.
Iswandi Kadir, 17, was painting the watergate at the DID Ketup facility when he fell at 10.20am.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre (PGO) said its search and rescue team from Asajaya was called to the scene at 10.47am.
Using a grappling iron, they recovered Iswandi’s body at 11.20am.
His body was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
