MIRI, August 23: A 19 year-old boy sustained face and bodily injuries after he was assaulted by a group of at least eight men at a public bath at Miri City Fan on Wednesday night (Aug 22).
According to sources, the incident happened around 7.17pm.
Prior to incident, the alleged victim was in the area as he had arranged to meet one of the alleged attackers regarding his (the victim’s) girlfriend.
Sources added, that the victim had communicated with one of the attackers via Wechat and a meet up was fixed on Wednesday night in order to discuss his girlfriend’s matters.
However, the alleged attacker brought friends to the meet up and they began attacking and beating up the victim inside the public bath.
They later fled the scene, leaving the victim in pain.
A police report was lodged on Thursday morning at Miri Central Police station (CPS). As of press time, no arrest has been made as police are still tracing the suspects. — DayakDaily
