Teenage boy among 7 accused of gang raping underage girl

KUCHING, Sept 12: Seven individuals, including a 15-year-old boy, pleaded not guilty to gang raping an underage girl, in the Kuching Sessions Court today.

The accused, aged between 15 and 29, were charged with gang rape against a 15-years-9-months-old girl at Pantai Pandan Lundu, at about 9pm on July 7, 2019.

They were charged under Section 375B of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of between ten and thirty years, upon conviction.


Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga fixed Oct 15 for pre-trial case management and the accused were allowed to be released on court bail of RM10,000, where RM2,000 is cash bail, with two local sureties with permanent address and permanent employment.

The judge also ordered the accused to report to Lundu police station once a month and barred them from contacting or approaching the victim and the victim’s family either personally or through agents.
