KUCHING, May 12: The Institure of Teacher Education Malaysia (IPGM) has taken a serious view of the bullying incident reportedly involving a teacher education institute (IPG) in Sarawak and will not hesitate to impose strict action against trainees found guilty.
In a statement issued on Monday (May 11), IPGM said disciplinary measures could include expulsion from the institution, underscoring its zero-tolerance stance on bullying and misconduct.
“Teacher trainees must uphold discipline and demonstrate good morals and character as future educators,” the statement said.
According to Bernama, a bullying incident alleged to have taken place in the early hours of last Friday went viral on social media, involving a group of senior students and male juniors from the 2025/2030 intake at IPGM.
The senior students were alleged to have gathered all the male juniors before subjecting them to various forms of humiliation, using abusive language and engaging in inappropriate and immoral acts against them. — DayakDaily
