SIBU, Jan 10: The taxi service counters at Sibu Airport (LTS) which have been closed for a long time will be reopened before Chinese New Year.

This was disclosed by Sibu MP Oscar Ling after holding a meeting with the management of LTS and Sibu Taxi Owners Association representatives here today.

According to him, this effort is to improve and strengthen taxi service operations at LTS to make it easier for locals and tourists to access taxi services.

“This initiative (taxi service counter) is very important for local or foreign tourists to get better taxi services.

“This meeting is to discuss the new year’s goal to relaunch the new taxi counter service at LTS,” he stressed.

Ling said the airport is the first ‘door’ of a city to the outside world, and it is also the first impression given to foreign tourists.

He stressed that the image, the content of the conversation and the friendly behavior of the taxi driver who is responsible for receiving passengers are also very important.

He also noted that LTS has not had a taxi service counter for a long time.

“After today’s meeting, the goal setting has been achieved, which is to reopen the taxi service counter before this Chinese New Year and use it for the convenience of the residents and foreign tourists.

“This is one of our new initiatives in the new year 2024 at LTS,” he explained. — DayakDaily
