KUCHING, Sept 17: The Tatau to Kuala Tatau new 6.75km road construction project is now 73.62 per cent.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Sept 16), Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the first phase of the project are currently in progress and expected to be completed by December this year.
“The new Tatau to Kuala Tatau road project, if completed, will have an economic impact on the local population after the opening of new land for agricultural purposes,” he said when visiting the project site to monitor the progress on Friday.
He added it will also shorten the travel distance from Kuala Tatau to Pekan Tatau.
During the visit, Uggah, who is Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) also reminded the contractor involved to complete the project according to the agreed schedule. — DayakDaily
