KUCHING, Oct 16:  Tanah Putih Vaccination Centre will be moved from SJK Chung Hua Pending to MBKS Stadium at Bintawa, effective Oct 18, 2021.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng made the announcement today at his weekly interactive social media live session called “Shall Wee Talk” today.

He said the vaccination centre at the primary school has to be moved as the school needed to clean up and prepare for its re-opening.

“Vaccination must continue. So we allow them (medical staff of Tanah Putih Health Clinic) to use MBKS Stadium (at Jalan Utama).

“They are moving to the new Tanah Putih Vaccination Centre at MBKS Stadium today.  The centre will start operating on Monday (Oct 18, 2021),” said Wee.

He said the vaccination centre is mainly catering for students to receive their second shots.

“It (MBKS stadium) has a lot of parking spaces, it will be more convenient for those coming for vaccination.  There may be a bit of hiccups in the beginning, but we are trying our best to help the medical personnel of Tanah Putih Health Clinic,” said Wee.

He appealed to the public to be more understanding and tolerable on behalf of the medical staff.

“They (the medical staff) have to worry about their own health, the health of their patients, colleagues and family members.

“They are bearing tremendous mental pressure and then, there is the sense of helplessness.  It is very draining and strenuous, so I urge for your understanding.  Do work together with them, and be grateful to them for their efforts,” said Wee.  — DayakDaily
