KUCHING, March 30: A total of 13,500 names of residents from the southern part of the city have been submitted to the Resident’s Office for the food aid assistance.

Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Tan Kai, in a statement, said the first batch of the details and particulars were collected from Padungan, Pending, Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa, Batu Kawah and Batu Kitang residents in the span of two day.

“In the last two days, we managed to collect 13,500 names and their respective information. The list has been submitted to the Welfare Department via the Kuching Resident’s Office,” he said.

Tan Kai added that it was part of Sarawak government’s immediate action to assist the low income group to overcome the current difficult situation.

According to him, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) branches and service centres including other Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) have completed their first batch collection of names and information.

Tan Kai said the collecting of particulars was immediately carried out after an emergency meeting at Kuching Resident’s Office last Saturday (March 28).

“We hope those requiring assistance to contact us at our branches, or the respective community leaders and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK). We will continue to render our service,” he continued — DayakDaily
