Taman Samarindah EMCO extended to Lrg 28-32, Taman Samarindah Baru after more Covid-19 cases detected

KOTA SAMARAHAN, Aug 20: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for Taman Samarindah has been extended to include Lorong 28 to 32 and Taman Samarindah Baru due to the detection of additional Covid-19 cases in the community.

Samarahan Divisional Disaster Management Committee (SDDMC) chairman Hasanal Abdul Wahid said on top of EMCO previously implemented on areas from Lorong 1 to 27, the period of this lockdown will be effective immediately until Aug 30.

“The EMCO on Taman Samarindah Lorong 1 to 27 was implemented from Aug 17 (12.00am) to Aug 30 (11.59pm).


“Following advice from the Samarahan Health Office and additional cases of infection in the community of Taman Samarindah, SDDMC has agreed to extend the EMCO to areas including Taman Samarindah Lorong 28 to 32 and Taman Samarindah Baru according to dates set previously,” it said in a statement today.

Since yesterday (Aug 19), all residents of Taman Samarindah from Lorong 1 to 27 have been required to undergo Covid-19 tests which will last for four days until Aug 22 at the Dewan Perpaduan N17 Stakan.

A total of 1,000 residents from the residential area was screened on the first day of the active case detection (ACD).

The EMCO was imposed following positive cases linked to the Bandar Riyal Cluster. — DayakDaily
