Talib says musical fountain ‘ain’t broke’, maintained regularly

KUCHING, Dec 9: Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip denies that the Darul Hana Musical Fountain is broken and its maintenance is being neglected.

He said the RM31 million initiative was being maintained regularly as per contract, and he had not been told of any damage to the fountain.

“There are people doing maintenance on it, so we shouldn’t believe too much on Facebook. They (Facebook account owners) have their own motives.

“Let’s see how it goes,” he replied when reporters asked him today to comment on a Facebook posting claiming that the fountain is broken and maintenance was neglected.

On Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong’s recent allegation that the musical fountain project cost is `bloated’, Talib assured that there was no element of misappropriation.

“It has been done properly. At any rate, an audit is being been done properly; so, it shouldn’t be an issue. And people should not make a political issue out of it,” he said. — DayakDaily
