KUCHING, July 17: Head of the State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib attended a royal banquet held in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebration of Brunei’s ruler Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah on Saturday (July 16) in Brunei.
In a statement by Astana Negeri Sarawak, around 3,000 distinguished guests attended the grand state banquet at the royal palace Istana Nurul Iman, including members of the royal families, State dignitaries, and foreign diplomatic officials, as well as Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, Ho Ching.
Taib was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development (Modernisation of Agriculture) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and his wife, Datin Dayang Maimunah Awang Muhammad.
Following the banquet, all foreign dignitaries departed for Brunei International Airport to return home. — DayakDaily
