KUCHING, Oct 8: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib attended a thanksgiving prayer ceremony in conjunction with the former’s 85th birthday celebration held at Masjid Jamek in Kuching tonight.
Among those present were Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, Cabinet ministers and assistant ministers, and State leaders.
The event started with a Maghrib group prayer and Yasin recitation led by State Imam Besar Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, followed by a talk titled ‘Setia and Barakah’ by State Mufti Datuk Kipli Yaasin.
The event then continued with an Isha group prayer and later a thanksgiving prayer. – DayakDaily
