KUCHING, Sept 2: Head down to Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall to get a free health check-up by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) physicians this weekend (Sept 3-4) from 11am to 5pm.

The pop-up event is held in conjunction with the mall’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration that also complement the 19th Kuching Intercultural Mooncake Festival at Carpenter Street and Ewe Hai Street which started yesterday.

It is organised by the Lions Club Kuching One Earth, Kuching Association of Talent Development and Welfare of Special Needs (KATSN) and Divine Will Society in collaboration with the Kuching Traditional and Holistic Natural Medicine Association, Federation of Chinese Physicians and Medicine Dealers Associations of Malaysia.

Advisor to Lions Club Kuching One Earth Dato Sim Kiang Chiok has assisted the Kuching Traditional and Holistic Natural Medicine Association to put in a request to Plaza Merdeka to conduct the free health check up.

“Health is wealth and the best gift that you can reward yourself is to do a free check up,” he urged in a statement today.

In addition, the organisers also encouraged the public to visit the art exhibition being set up at the mall showcasing the artworks by 15 artists with special needs.

The artworks can also be purchased on a first-come-first-serve basis, which will in turn help to support children with special needs to boost their self-esteem and promote self-reliance.

For the little ones who are ready to unleash the artist within, they can also participate in the lantern making contest on Sept 5 and colouring contests on Sept 9 and 10. Those who are interested can contact Priscilla at 012-8709419 or Madam Pung at 012-8865396.

Plaza Merdeka is also celebrating its 10th anniversary with a lucky draw offering prizes up to RM100,000 including TV and iPhone. Shoppers are entitled to enter the lucky draw with minimum spending of RM10 at the mall.

“Let’s celebrate and immerse in the Mid-Autumn festivity to bring everyone closer together for a joyous and united Kuching,” Sim urged. — DayakDaily
