S’wak’s Public Health, Housing and Local Govt Ministry receives bronze award for integrity, good governance

KUCHING, Jan 28: The Sarawak Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) won the bronze award at the Integrity, Governance and Anti-Corruption Award (AIGA) 2022.

MPHLG permanent secretary Datu Antonio Kahti Galis presented the award to Deputy Premier of Sarawak Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also the Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, during a courtesy call recently.

In a press release issued today, MPHLG informed only 92 organisations out of 116 entries from both the public and private sectors had received recognition for their commitment and effort in cultivating integrity and good governance practices at the inaugural AIGA Awards ceremony organised by the Malaysian Institute of Integrity.

The winners were evaluated and awarded the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum achievements.

“The MPHLG is the only ministry that participated out of 10 entries from the Sarawak public sector and among those that receive the bronze award.

“This achievement reflects the Ministry’s support for Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s effort to eradicate corruption and restore the post covid economy as well as uplift the well-being of all Malaysians in his unity government.

“The Ministry and other organisations were encouraged to continuously strive towards improving their internal management system to uphold good governance,” it said. — DayakDaily
