KUCHING, Sept 4: Hourly readings on the Air Pollution Index of Malaysia’s (APIMs) website indicate that three districts in Sarawak—Kuching, Sri Aman, and Serian—have unhealthy levels of air pollution.
Sri Aman had the highest API at 154 as of 11am today, followed by Serian (137) and Kuching (123).
In the meantime, moderate API readings were recorded in other parts of Sarawak with Samarahan at 96, Bintulu (85), Sarikei (82), Miri (78), Sibu (76), Samalaju (71), Mukah (69), Limbang (66), and Kapit (61).
According to the API Table (Hourly) chart, Kuching began recording unhealthy air quality at 12am today when the API reading reached 110, with a peak of 134 at 8am, while Sri Aman reached a peak of 155 at 4am today, and Serian began recording unhealthy air quality at 1am today, with an API reading of 108 and a peak of 137 at 11am.
An API reading of 0–50 indicates good air quality; 51–100 is considered moderate; 101–200, unhealthy; 201–300, very unhealthy; and above 300, hazardous. — DayakDaily
