KUCHING, March 2: Sarawak para powerlifter Bonnie Bunyau Gustin won gold for Malaysia in the Para Powerlifting World Cup 2024 in Dubai yesterday (March 1).
According to a news report from Bernama today, Bonnie clinched the title in the 72-kilogramme (kg) category after his third attempt to lift 218kg was successful.
The world champion lifted 210kg on the first attempt, followed by 216kg on the second attempt.
England’s Mark Swan won the silver medal by lifting 213kg, while Hu Peng from China took the bronze medal with a 211kg lift. — DayakDaily
