S’wak tourism minister leads delegation to PCMA Convening Leaders event in California, USA

KUCHING, Jan 9: Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is leading a delegation from the State to the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Convening Leaders 2024 in San Diego, California, USA from Jan 7 to 10.

The event gathers thousands of business events professionals and community leaders from around the world to explore, through leading-edge education, research and networking, how business events generate economic and social legacies for businesses and communities.

According to Abdul Karim, the Sarawak delegation consists of 29 industry players.


During the trip, he said he has met with PCMA chief executive officer and president Sherrif Karamat of which both of them had discussed joint commitment to drive the economic and social development positively through business events.

“PCMA has about 7,000 members worldwide and this Association is one of the important international partners of Sarawak.

“Together with PCMA, we aim to explore new market and opportunities for the benefit of everyone,” he said in a Facebook post uploaded yesterday (Jan 8). — DayakDaily
