KUCHING, Aug 10: Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Muaythai Youth Club has successfully brought home three golds in the 5th National Level Inter-Club Muaythai Championship 2023, which was held in Summit USJ, Subang Jaya from Aug 3 to 6.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Texas Jeremy Lo, Rizz Ezzandy Iswandy and Hani Anissa Ismail were champions in the 51-54kg, 30-32kg and 34-36kg categories respectively.
Meanwhile, Muhd Nuraikal Ismail, Muhammad Nur Aiman Kamarudin, Aqeed Fikrie Omar, Muhammad Nurhizbur Asyaf Mohd Nazri and Hani Anissa Ismail won a silver medal in the 51-54kg, 48-51kg, 42-45kg, 36-38kg, and 50-52kg categories respectively.
Five other members namely Muhd Izzat Zulfaqar Hazrid (60-63kg), Muhammad Syamiel Saufie (40-42kg), Jonnah Barrac David Lambek (28-30kg), Muhammad Hakim Abdullah (32-34kg) and Nur Aiman Ziqriey Nurazman (30-32kg), won bronze medals in their games.
In congratulating the athletes, SSC Sport Development Officer Alexander Sirai said the competition acts as a medium to gauge the athletes’ level of fitness and skills including providing them with new exposures.
Overall, SSC Muaythai Youth Club finished in 7th place after winning 3 gold medals, five silver and five bronze medals with 47 per cent winning rate. — DayakDaily
