MIRI, May 20: The Sarawak government has spent RM3.04 million to provide equipment assistance to Telang Usan constituents through the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF) program for the past five years since 2019, says its assemblyman Dennis Ngau.
“The program was established by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to help and empower the people especially those in the rural areas to improve their socio-economy by providing equipment assistance to generate income in various industries such as bakery, small farming activities, to name a few,” he said.
In 2021, Dennis added, 16 AFF applicants in Telang Usan benefited from the initiative, involving RM112,000 worth of equipment assistance given.
“Today, three applicants namely Yap Siong Kim, Kasip Wan and Angelina Lesty Meli received bakery and cooking equipment assistance worth RM7,000 each,” he said during the handover ceremony of AFF’s equipment assistance held at the Miri Agriculture Department office here today.
Meanwhile, Dennis advised the recipients to put the AFF’s assistance to good use.
