KUCHING, Nov 20: The Sarawak government has approved a total of RM6 million to improve and upgrade Kebun Paya Bakong road in Debak.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Saribas incumbent Mohammad Razi Sitam said a bridge will also be built across Teraie river in Debak, at a cost of RM300,000 which will provide better access for local farmers.

“The construction of the road was not for the benefit of individuals, but rather to help facilitate the local villagers to enable them to cultivate and develop their land,” he said when attending to the prayer ceremony for the project on Friday.

Mohammad Razi pointed out that he will continue to apply for an additional allocation from time to time if the allocation channeled was not sufficient.

“This is to ensure that all the farmers in Kampung Melayu Debak would be able to benefit from the road upon its completion,” he added. — DayakDaily
