S’wak govt agrees to provide land for Chinese Muslim Community Cultural Center

KUCHING, March 17: The Sarawak government has agreed to provide land for the construction of the Chinese Muslim Community Cultural Center in Jalan Diplomatik in Kuching.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Chinese Muslim Welfare Association Sarawak (PERKTHIS) president Mortadha Lau Abdullah said the center is currently in the architectural planning stage and is expected to start construction in 2025.

“The cost for building the center on the 1.5 acre land has also not yet been finalised,” he told reporters after a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Premier’s Office in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building, here today.

Also present during the courtesy call were PERKTHIS deputy president Muhamad Luk Sulaiman and other PERKTHIS members. — DayakDaily
