KUCHING, Aug 2: Sarawak is developing its first integrated digital platform to consolidate real-time information on women entrepreneurs, enabling the government to better target training, financial assistance and business development programmes.
Known as the Women Entrepreneurship Dashboard (WED), the platform is being developed by the Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS) in collaboration with the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) and the Sarawak Civil Service Digitalisation Unit (SCSDU).
Speaking at the Sarawak Women’s Day 2026 celebration here today, Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah described WED as Sarawak’s first integrated digital platform dedicated to strengthening the development of women entrepreneurs across the State.

“At the heart of the initiative is a centralised database that will consolidate entrepreneurs’ profiles using real-time information and integrate them with the Entrepreneur Database System (ENBASE),” she said.
According to her, the move will provide a clearer picture of the women’s entrepreneurship landscape, including where entrepreneurs are based, the challenges they encounter, their growth potential and the support they need.
“This will allow us to better understand the actual landscape of women entrepreneurs in Sarawak — who they are, where they are located, the challenges they face, their growth potential and the type of support they require.
“With more accurate and up-to-date data, the government will be better positioned to design evidence-based policies, training programmes, financial assistance and capacity-building initiatives tailored to the needs of women entrepreneurs”, she added.
The event also recognised seven individuals and organisations for their contributions to women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, social development and the digital economy.

Recipients were:
- Toh Puan Hayati Ahmat (Anugerah Datuk Patinggi Laila Taib)
