S’wak Career and Training Fair 2026 targets 25k visitors, to offer 1,982 vacancies (June 6-7)

KUCHING, May 26: This year’s The Sarawak Career and Training Fair (SCaT Fair) is expected to attract more than 25,000 physical visitors and over 100,000 online views with 1,982 job vacancies available.

According to Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, the 12th edition of the SCaT Fair is to be held at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC) in Kuching from June 6-7.

In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) report, he said that the programme reflects the Sarawak Government’s continued commitment to empowering talent development and increasing the marketability of the state’s workforce.

“It will act as a ‘one-stop’ centre for information related to educational opportunities, financial assistance, and career paths to students, youth, and the public.

“It also aims to empower youth to be able to make the right decisions about their future while fostering an interest in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field,” he said at the SCaT Fair 2026 press conference at the TEGAS Digital Village Auditorium here on Monday (May 25).

Elaborating further, he said that over 50 exhibitors consisting of public and private tertiary education institutions, government agencies, industry players, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, and training providers will participate in the exhibition.

He added that through collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (Socso), the programme also offers open interview sessions involving various industry sectors with approximately 1,982 job vacancies available.

Among the main attractions for the event, he said, will be a special oil and gas zone coordinated by Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS).

In addition, various side programmes will also be held throughout the two-day event including the STEM Playground, Sarawak Minecraft Championship, Sarawak Rocketeer Challenges, TVET Master Competition, Career Exploration Programme (CEP), Sultan Iskandar Planetarium (PSI) Dome, and various other interactive activities.
