KUCHING, Oct 28: Activities organised by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) have been incorporated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to benefit local communities.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said it is also the council’s priority and responsibility to ensure that all 17 SDCs are integrated in any of the council’s activities.

“As the implementation is recognised in one area, it will affect the outcome and development in others too, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability,” he said during the prize presentation ceremony for PAMSC-MBKS CAT Design Competition 2022, held at MBKS headquarters, here today.

On another note, Wee also called for more non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to come forward and work together with the council for its future activities.

“You are welcome to contact us, and let us work together and create success for the city of Kuching,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nurul Asfarina Amirah Fadzil was selected as the champion of the PAMSC-MBKS CAT Design Competition 2022, earning RM3,000 and a certificate, while the second place went to Audrey Lau Xue Yee (RM1,500 and a certificate), while third place went to Mohamad Nazwan Mohamad Taufik (RM1,000 and a certificate). — DayakDaily
