MIRI, July 10: A 17-year-old youth from Kulai Besar, Johor, has been remanded until July 13 to facilitate investigation into his money lending activity.
The suspect, who is believed to be an unlicensed moneylender, was arrested by police in front of a bank at Pelita Commercial Centre here at 1.28pm yesterday.
Police seized 700 ‘money lending’ flyers, a mobile phone and a sling bag from the suspect.
The case is being investigating under Section 5(2) of the Moneylenders Act 1951. — DayakDaily
