Suspected drug trafficker nabbed with RM600 worth of drugs

MIRI, Jan 6: Miri Narcotics Investigation Department (NCID) on Saturday night detained a man and seized methamphetamine worth RM600.

According to Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol, the seized drugs weighing 5.05 grammes had been recently purchased by the 46-year-old suspect online a day prior to his arrest.


The suspect, from Taman Desa Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, was nabbed by Miri NCID personnel around 11.30pm at a five-foot-way along Jalan Parry here.

During a body check, police found three transparent plastic packets containing 20 tube straws believed to methamphetamine.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect has been involved in drug trafficking activities for the past three months.

The suspect’s urine tested negative for drugs.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
