KUCHING, July 3: A 22-year-old suspected drug addict was arrested after 6.68 grammes of methamphetamine, worth RM1,002 was found in her bag at Wisma Unaco here on Thursday night.
According to Kuching District Deputy Chief, Supt Merbin Lisa, the arrest was made at 11.45 pm when the police approached the suspect.
Four transparent plastic bags with crystal substances which were believed to be methamphetamine were found in the suspect’s bag during the arrest.
Merbin said that the suspect had allegedly pick up the packets of drugs at a certain location after she made the payment via online banking through the drug dealer.
The suspect was later tested positive for the methamphetamine drug and had one criminal record under Section 3 Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
The suspect will be remanded and investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. -Dayak Daily
