KUCHING, Oct 23: Supporting other political parties is pointless because only Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) can properly care for Sarawak, alleges Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) deputy secretary general Lo Khere Chiang.
Lo made this statement today at the ‘Jalinan Kasih’ ceremony with the Kampung Tematu community, which was organised by the Kelab Rekreasi Pengguna Dan Pengurusan Dewan Serbaguna (KRPPDS) and held at the Kampung Tematu multipurpose hall here.
“My hope is that we will continue to support only GPS. There is no point in supporting other parties such as Pakatan Harapan (PH), Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), and others, in my opinion.
“There is no other party that can give Sarawak hope, only GPS,” he asserted.
Lo, also the Batu Kitang assemblyman, hoped that GPS would win all 31 parliamentary seats in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
He continued by affirming that GPS would continue to defend Sarawak’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
He also claimed that GPS would put ‘Sarawak First’ and would advocate for the State to demand projects and funding.
Meanwhile, Lo, who is also the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, has distributed essential items to economically disadvantaged groups in Kampung Tematu today to alleviate their financial burden.
The social welfare activity assisted 32 disadvantaged families, providing necessities such as eggs, rice, diapers, and so on.
Lo also presented a cheque for RM3,000 to the village security and development committee (JKKK). — DayakDaily
